ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the San Mateo County Community College District ("District"), acting through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the District, will accept electronically submitted bids for the award of the contract for the following public work: BID NUMBER 87017 CA¥ADA COLLEGE SPORTS FIELDS REPLACEMENT PROJECT - SITE WORK CA¥ADA COLLEGE, Redwood City, CALIFORNIA Each bid must conform to and be responsive to the contract documents and be submitted on a form furnished by the District. Bids can only be submitted by those A or B contractors who have been pre-qualified with the District, as reflected on the District's website: http://www.smccd.edu/facilities/prequalcc.php. DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK. The Work generally consists of site work to include an addition of drinking fountain(s) and structural components for new baseball netting and improvements to accessible access. SUBMITTAL OF ELECTRONIC BIDS: Bids for the Work must be electronically submitted at https://vendors.planetbids.com/portal/20507/bo/bo-detail/140258 no later than 2:00 PM (PT) May 5, 2026. Bids submitted thereafter will be rejected for non-responsiveness. Timely submitted Bids will be opened as soon thereafter as practicable. The District is not responsible for or liable to Bidders for: (i) inaccessibility of the PlanetBids portal; or (ii) untimely, incomplete or inaccurate data submitted through the PlanetBids portal. THIS IS A LABOR AGREEMENT PROJECT: This project is subject to the terms of the Program Stabilization Agreement (PLA) Executed between the District and the San Mateo County Buildings and Trades Council. Copies of the PLA are available on the Web at: http://www.smccd.edu/facilities/community/. PREVAILING WAGE: The successful Bidder must comply with all prevailing wage laws applicable to the Project, and related requirements contained in the Contract Documents. Prevailing Wage Determinations are on file at the District, available at CA Department of Industrial Relations website https://www.dir.ca.gov/Public-Works/PublicWorks.html, and are deemed included in the Bidding Documents. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code Section 1771.5. CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION. Each Bidder submitting a bid, including all Bidder's Subcontractors, must be a Department of Industrial Relations Public Works registered contractor pursuant to Labor Code �1725.5. SUBSTITUTION OF SECURITIES. District will permit successful Bidder to substitute securities for retention monies withheld to ensure performance of Contract, as set forth in Document 00 43 45 (Escrow Agreement for Security Deposits in Lieu of Retention), in accordance with California Public Contract Code, Section 22300. RESTRICTIONS ON SUBSTITUTIONS AND SOLE SOURCE ITEMS. As a limitation on Bidder's privilege to substitute "or equal" items, District has found that certain items are designated as District standards and certain items are designated to match existing items in use on a particular public improvement either completed or in the course of completion or are available from one source. As to such items, District will not permit substitution. Such items are described in the Bidding Documents. PROCUREMENT OF BIDDING DOCUMENTS: Bidding documents contain the full description of the Work. Bidders may access and download the electronic bid documents for no cost at the District's Online Vendor Portal, https://vendors.planetbids.com/portal/20507/bo/bo-detail/140258. MANDATORY PRE BID CONFERENCE: Two conferences will be held for this project on Tuesday April 21, 2026 and Friday, April 24, 2026 at 9:00am at Ca¤ada College in Building 6 Room 103. Attendance at ONE conference is mandatory for prime bidders. Prospective subcontrac-tors and vendors are encouraged to attend. Interested parties are advised to arrive early in order to park and purchase a parking pass. The conference will include a project overview and site walk. Doors will be locked 15 minutes after the start time of each conference.
