NOTICE INVITING FORMAL BIDSNOTICE, PLACE AND DUE DATE, PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Capistrano Unified School District, “District”, will receive sealed bids pursuant to Public Contract Code (PCC) section 1601 at the District Office Reception area at 33122 Valle Rd., San Juan Capistrano, California 92675 prior to 11:00 AM on May 19, 2026 "Due Date" for Bid No. 2627-03 Weed Abatement. This bid is for weed abatement and other related services districtwide, as needed. DOCUMENTS AVAILABILITY: This public works prevailing wage rate Project (Labor Code 1720) is further detailed in the Project documents, is available only through District's website: https://www.capousd.org/subsites/Purchasing/ Click on Doing Business-Notices: Requests for Proposals and Bids. The Project documents will govern should there be any conflict with the notice.LICENSES, DIR REGISTRATION, PREQUALIFICATIONS: Pursuant to Public Contract Code section 3300, bidders are hereby notified that the District has determined that the Contractor must possess a valid CSLB Class C-27 "Landscaping Contractor" at the time of bid submission and for the duration of the contract.The Contract Time is from July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027 with four (4) one year renewal periods, at the option of the Board of Trustees, for a total contract term not to exceed 60 months. CONTRACTOR should consult General Conditions regarding Liquidated Damages.MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE: Not applicable.BIDDER REQUEST FOR INFORMATION: All requests for information and/or clarification regarding the bid documents shall be submitted in writing via e-mail to Thomas Connolly, Supervisor, Purchasing, at tjconnolly@capousd.org. All requests must be submitted no later than Tuesday, May 12, 2026, 1:00 PM. Requests received after this deadline may not be answered.BID BOND: Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00), payable to Capistrano Unified School District as a guarantee that the bidder, if its bid is accepted, shall promptly execute the Agreement formBASIS FOR AWARD: The District will award the Contract, if at all, to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on the total Project award amount.Bid pricing must be submitted on the Bid Form included in the Contract Documents.
