Notice to Bidders Notice is hereby given that Pacific Grove Unified School District ("PGUSD" or "Owner") will receive sealed bids prior to the date and time stated for the Bid Opening for the award of a contract to construct this project: Robert H Down Elementary School Site Improvements Robert H Down Elementary School; 458 Pine Ave., Pacific Grove, CA 93950 Engineer's Estimate: $1,385,000.00 Project documents are available beginning February 25,2026, on the PGUSD Website at: https://www.pgusd.org/Parents--Community/ Facilities/BID-OPPORTUNITIES/index.html This renovation is projected to be in construction from May to August 2026. Project consists of reworking the rear play-yard site work including, but not limited to: Concrete pavement and AC replacement/repaving, exterior stairs and railing replacement, new slope walkways, fencing and gates, sports play equipment and game striping, trash enclosure and ball wall. Mandatory pre-bid conference and job walks are scheduled for March 5, 2026. The pre-bid conference will start at the Robert H Down Elementary School at 2:15 pm. Bids are to be submitted in person at the PGUSD District office at 433 Hillcrest Avenue by 2:00 pm, March 27, 2026. All questions about the project should be submitted online at by email to jill@ausonio.com. PGUSD Board approval is tentatively scheduled for April 9, 2026. Pursuant to the Contract Documents, the successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment (Labor and Material) Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum, and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum. The Owner will not consider or accept any bids from contractors who are not licensed to do business in the State of California, in accordance with the California Public Contract Code, providing for the licensing of contractors. In accordance with Section 3300 of the Code, the bidder shall have a Class "B" license and shall maintain that license in good standing through Contract Completion and all applicable warranty periods.
