Notice to Contractors Calling for Bids Notice is Hereby Given that the Garvey School District of Los Angeles County, California, Acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the District, will receive up to but no later than 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026 sealed bids for: All underground utilities, sitework and integration of existing and new fire alarm systems meeting the district's standards. The scope will include but not be limited to all site work, foundation for the modular building, playground equipment, pour in place rubber matting, at Duff Language Magnet Academy. Bid No: 062:25/26 Prequalification of bidders: As a condition of bidding for this project, and in accordance with California public contract code section 20111.5, prospective bidders are required to submit digital prequalification documents through the “PQ bids” website. These documents will be the basis for determining which bidders are qualified to bid on this project. To prequalify, bidders should access PQ Bids (AB2031) weblink: http://www.pqbids.com/garvey and follow the instructions to submit an application under (AB2031). All bids shall be made and presented on a form furnished by the District. Sealed Bids shall be received in the multipurpose building of the Dan T. William Education Center located at 2444 Del Mar Ave, Rosemead CA 91770 and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above stated time and place. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope showing the time, date of the bid opening with bid number and subject printed on the bottom left corner of the envelope. Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents which will be distributed in electronic format after the mandatory job walk. A mandatory job walk has been scheduled for Monday, April 6th, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at Duff Learning Magnet Academy, 7830 Dorothy Avenue, Rosemead, CA 91770. The job walk will start promptly at 9:00 a.m. at the main entrance of the school (adjacent to flagpole). Contractors arriving after 9:00 a.m. will not be allowed to submit a bid for the project. Each bidder shall possess a B license at the time the contract is awarded pursuant to the Public Contract code Sec. 3300. The successful bidder must maintain the license throughout the duration of this contract. Once a bidder has been selected, the District may determine to add to or deduct from the contract any of the additive or deductive items. Specifications and all contract documents will be available in electronic format on the day of the job walk. The district has obtained from the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work in the locality in which the work is to be performed for each craft, classification or type of work needed to execute the contract. The awarded contractor must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. Holiday rates shall be paid as specified in the collective bargaining agreement applicable to each particular craft, classification or type of work. All wages paid on this contract must be “DAVIS BACON WAGE” compliant. The contractor and any subcontractor(s) shall pay not less than the specified prevailing rates (Davis Bacon wage) to all workers employed by them in execution of this contract. In accordance with provisions of Public Contract Code sec. 22300, substitution of eligible and equivalent securities for any moneys withheld to ensure performance under this contract will be permitted at the request and expense of the contractor. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids. The district reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any of the bids or in the bidding process.
