BERKELEY RENT STABILIZATION BOARD NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER POSSIBLE INCREASE OF REGISTRATION FEES FOR THE 2026-2027 FISCAL YEAR DATE: Thursday, March 5, 2026 TIME: 7:00 p.m. LOCATION: Berkeley Unified School District Board Room (BUSD), 1231 Addison Street, Berkeley, CA 94702 and via Zoom videoconference at this URL: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81623513368?pwd=47orHleALoAwjhh65Jwmj27QsIayhZ.1 The Berkeley Rent Stabilization Board ("Board") will hold a public hearing at its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, March 5, 2026, to consider whether to increase the Board's annual registration fees, due on July 1, 2026, to offset increases in cost-of-living adjustments, employee benefits, non-personnel expenses, facility maintenance costs, and the capital expenditure necessary to initiate and execute a long-term contract for a data system and public data platform. At the recommendation of the Board's Budget & Personnel Committee, the Board will consider increasing the registration fee for fully covered units by an amount not to exceed $405 per unit; and will consider increasing the registration fee for partially covered units by an amount not to exceed $250 per unit. Lastly, the Board will consider increasing the summer registration fee for qualifying sororities and fraternities by an amount not to exceed $120 per unit. While these registration fees may be increased by the maximum amounts listed above, the Board may choose not to increase them or may vote to increase them by a lesser amount. This meeting will be conducted in a hybrid model with both in-person and remote participation pursuant to the requirements of Government Code Section 54953 and all current state and local laws allowing public participation in meetings of legislative bodies. Any member of the public may attend this meeting at the posted location(s). This meeting may also be viewed on BTV Cable Channel 33 or via live webcast at rentboard. berkeleyca.gov.
