NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TOWN OF DANVILLE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Danville Town Council will hold a public hearing to consider introduction of an ordinance approving an increase in the salary paid to members of the Town Council. Pursuant to Government Code Section 36516, the increase, if approved, would be a maximum of 5% for each year since the salary was last increased, which was in 2024. The increase would be $138 per month, increasing the total monthly compensation from $1,387 to $1,525. Government Code Section 36516.5 provides that the increase, if any, shall not become effective until after at least one member of the Council begins a new term of office. This would occur in December 2026, following the next municipal election in November 2026. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN THAT the public hearing for the proposed ordinance will be held during the Town Council meeting of March 3, 2026. The meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. at the Town Meeting Hall at 201 Front Street. All interested persons are encouraged to attend and be heard.
