REQUEST FOR BIDS: WEED ABATEMENT The Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA), a local public agency exercising joint powers, is currently accepting bids from weed abatement contractors for brushing of numerous parcels in Los Angeles County area. Prospective bidders may obtain the required selected MRCA parcels and bid forms from https://mrca.ca.gov/about/bid-on-a-project/. Sealed bids will be accepted until 2 p.m. on March 2nd, 2026, at King Gillette Ranch, located at 26800 Mulholland Hwy, Calabasas CA 91302. Sealed Bids will be publicly read at the Anthony C. Beilenson Visitor Center, which is the first parking lot on the right before Bridge Crossing. This is a public works project as defined in Labor Code 1720 and will require prevailing wages if bids exceed over $15,000. At the time of bid submission, and at all times during the term of the contract agreement, the brush clearance contractor, if performing any tree work, for the MRCA, shall hold a CSLB C-61/D-49 license issued by the state of California. The deadline for all questions will be March 24th, 2026 by 2 pm submitted in writing to mrcafireprevention@mrca.ca.gov and any clarifications to questions will be provided in writing and posted to the above MRCA website by March 27th, 2026 by 2pm. *Additional Procurement Notice: Please note that in addition to this year’s 2026 annual Requests for Bids (RFBs), we have also issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for On-Call Vegetation Management Services.
