NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS BEFORE THE CITY OF LA VERNE PLANNING COMMISSION ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11, 2026 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the La Verne Planning Commission will conduct a public hearings on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 6:30 PM, in the Council Chambers, La Verne City Hall, 3660 "D" Street, La Verne and make recommendations on the following ordinances: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA VERNE, CALIFORNIA AMENDING THE DEFINITION OF "EMERGENCY SHELTER" TO IMPLEMENT STATE LAW AND AMENDING CHAPTER 18.22 AND SECTION 16.12.060 OF THE LA VERNE MUNICIPAL CODE TO IMPLEMENT STATE LAWS CHANGES RELATING TO TWOUNIT HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS AND URBAN LOT SPLITS . This makes changes required by State law including changes to the definition of emergency shelters and clarifications relating to where an SB9 project is allowed and when demolition may occur to historic structures and in historic areas. Environmental Determination: Exempt pursuant to Government Code Sections 65852.21 and 66411.7 and CEQA Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3). AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA VERNE, CALIFORNIA AMENDING THE ZONING PROVISIONS OF THE LA VERNE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS AND JUNIOR ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE LAW. This makes changes required by State law including updated standards for junior accessory dwelling units, new application timelines, and a new provision allowing applicants to appeal denials or incomplete determinations directly to the City Council. Environmental Determination: Exempt pursuant to Pub. Res. Code � 21080.17. Emails and written comments should be received before 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
