Notice is hereby given that the Director of the Planning and Development Department intends to take an action to approve, approve with conditions, or deny an application for a Time Extension for the project described below. At this time it is not known when this action may occur; however, the earliest this action may occur is on the eleventh day following the date of this notice indicated below. This Time Extension will extend the time limit in which the Zoning Clearance is required to be issued by two years from December 4, 2025, to December 4, 2027. The original project is a request for a Conditional Use Permit to allow 5.19 acres of outdoor cannabis cultivation under hoop structures. The Project site is a 40-acre parcel, zoned AG-II-100, and shown as Assessor’s Parcel Number 101-070-069, located at 6980 Cat Canyon Road, in the Santa Maria area, 4th Supervisorial District. The proposed project is an activity within the scope of the Board of Supervisors -approved Cannabis Land Use Ordinance and Licensing Program Environmental Impact Report (PEIR) (17EIR-00000-00003). The PEIR adequately describes the activity for the purposes of APPEALS: The decision of the Director of the Planning and Development Department to approve, conditionally approve, or deny this Time Extension 25TEX-00028 may be appealed to the County Planning Commission by the applicant or an aggrieved person. The appeal must be filed within the 10 calendar days following the date that the Director takes action on this Director Action. To qualify as an "aggrieved person" the appellant must have, in person or through a representative, informed the Planning and Development Department by apropriate means prior to the Director Action of the nature of their concerns, or, for good cause, was unable to do so. Written appeals, with accompanying fee, must be filed with Planning and Development at either 123 East Anapamu Street, Santa Barbara, 93101, or 624 West Foster Road, Suite C, Santa Maria, 93455, by 5:00 pm within the timeframe identified above. In the event that the last day for filing an appeal falls on a non -business day of the County, the appeal may be timely filed on the next business day. This Time Extension may be appealed to the California Coastal Commission after the appellant has exhausted all local appeals, therefore a fee is not required to file an appeal.
