Notice is hereby given that the City of Azusa Planning Commission will hold public hearings on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 for the following two sets of Development Code Amendments:
2026 Accessory Dwelling Units Update Case No.:261Location: Citywide
The City of Azusa Planning Commission will consider making a recommendation to the City Council regarding proposed amendments to Chapter 88.42.190 of the City of Azusa Municipal Code relating to Accessory Dwelling Units and Junior Accessory Dwelling units in compliance with State Law.
2026 Code Update Related to Tobacco and Vaping Shops Case No.:262Location: Citywide
The City of Azusa Planning Commission will consider making a recommendation to the City Council regarding proposed amendments to Chapter 88.42.240 relating to tobacco and vaping shops. The proposed amendment would add a new definition for “Flavored Tobacco Product”, provide additional clarification to the term “Tobacco or Vaping Shop”, and add a new section that references the Business and Profession Code.
ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: Proposed amendments are exempt from environmental review under Section 15378 of the State of California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") Guidelines, because it has no potential for resulting in physical change in the environment, directly or indirectly. Moreover, under Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations, Section 15061(b)(3), that these Ordinances are also exempt from the requirements of CEQA in that the activity is covered by the general rule that CEQA applies only to projects which have the potential for causing a significant effect on the environment.
