NOTICE MEASURE TO BE VOTED ON NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Special Municipal Election will be held in the City of Monterey on Tuesday, the 2nd day of June, 2026, for the following Measure: Measure D Preserve Essential City Services Measure. Shall the measure to protect the City of Monterey's financial stability / quality of life by maintaining services such as police; fire; 9-1-1 emergency response / preparedness; and other unrestricted general fund expenditures, by enacting a 0.375 percent sales tax that expires in nine years, with all funds locally controlled, with public reports / independent audits, providing approximately $4,500,000 annually, be adopted? YES NO The City of Monterey has contracted with the County of Monterey Registrar of Voters to conduct the City's election as consolidated with the statewide Primary Election. The vote center locations and hours of operations, ballot drop box locations and hours of operations, vote-by-mail procedures and timing, the election officers, and all other persons and procedures for the Special Municipal Election shall be the same as those utilized by the County of Monterey and in compliance with the Elections Code of the State of California.
