CITY OF RANCHO PALOS VERDES February 26, 2026NOTICE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Director of Community Development of the City of Rancho Palos Verdes will consider the following project request pursuant to City Council-adopted Condition No. 2a(6) of Resolution No. 2023-08: GRADING PERMIT (CASE NO. PLGR2026-0001) – A request to conduct grading activities for the installation of lawn crypts, raised gardens with retaining walls, concrete walkways and landscaping in Area 6 of the Green Hills Memorial Park Masterplan including 425 yd³ of grading in the historic church area of Area 6 of the Masterplan. Grading activities consist of 31 yd³ cut and 394 yd³ fill, as outlined in the aerial and project map included in this notice. (Fill will come from the onsite stockpile area, also located in Area 6.) The project also proposes to construct ancillary 3-foot-tall retaining walls, 1.5-foot-tall benches and 6-foot-tall family headstone monuments adjacent to family estate areas within Area 6. LOCATION: 27501 S. Western Avenue APPLICANT/LANDOWNER: Green Hills Memorial Park This proposed project is within the scope of the Planning Commission-approved Mitigated Negative Declaration (Environmental Assessment for Case No. ZON2003-00086) and subsequent addendums for the Green Hills Cemetery Master Use Plan. If you have any comments or concerns about the proposed project, please communicate those thoughts in writing to Amy Seeraty, Senior Planner, by Friday, March 13, 2026 . By doing so, you will ensure that your comments are taken into consideration for the staff analysis of the project. Please note that written materials, including emails, submitted to the City are public records and may be posted on the City’s website. Accordingly, you may wish to omit personal information from your written materials as it may become part of the public record. After March 13, 2026 , the Director’s Notice of Decision will be mailed to owners of property within a 500-foot radius of the site, any persons requesting notice, all affected homeowners associations, and the Applicant, who will have 15 days to appeal the decision in writing to the Planning Commission. If you would like the opportunity to review the application package and the proposed plans, they are on file in the Community Development Department at 30940 Hawthorne Boulevard, Rancho Palos Verdes, and are available for review from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Thursday, and from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM Friday.
