CITY OF MILL VALLEY SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 1368 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 20 ("ZONING") OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE TO (1) UPDATE REGULATIONS FOR COMMERCIAL LAND USES, (2) UPDATE USE PERMIT REGULATIONS, (3) RELOCATE VARIANCE AND ZONING AMENDMENT REGULARTIONS, AND (4) UPDATE DEFINITIONS AND REFERENCES On April 20, 2026, Mill Valley City Council adopted the above-referenced Ordinance. This summary has been prepared and published in accordance with the requirements of Government Code Section 36933. The Ordinance modernizes commercial land uses and development standards and streamlines use permit requirements and approval processes to reduce uncertainty and create a more welcoming environment for new businesses in Mill Valley, consistent with the City's General Plan goals related to land use and economic vitality. Key provisions include updated regulations for commercial land uses, updated use permit requirements based on business type, business size and zone district, and new administrative and temporary use permit processes.
