TOWN OF PARADISE SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 655 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF PARADISE ADOPTING NEW SECTION 15.02.065 AND MAKING FINDINGS OF FACTS RELATING TO BUILDING CODE COMPLAINTS AND ESTABLISHING OVERSIGHT BY THE BUILDING DIVISION CORRECTIVE ACTION PLAN AD HOC ADVISORY COMMITTEE The following is a summary of Ordinance No. 655: Ordinance No. 655 would add Section 15.02.065 of the Paradise Municipal Code (PMC) relating to building code complaints and oversight by the Town of Paradise. The ordinance provides, among other things, as follows: A centralized complaint intake for property owners to submit alleged instances of building code noncompliance by a permit holder; An independent review process to evaluate the complaints and make a determination; A formal appeal process for contractors and owner-builders to appeal a finding with which they disagree; and An accountability mechanism whereby building permit holders can be denied new permits, and whereby issued permits can be suspended, in the event that multiple violations are determined to exist, as outlined in the proposed ordinance.
