PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Azusa will conduct a public hearing on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers located in City Hall at 213 E. Foothill Avenue, Azusa, California 91702. The City Council will receive testimony related to the following: NOTICE OF PROPOSED SUBSTANTIAL CHANGE TO AZUSA’S FY 2025-2026 and FY 2026-2027 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROGRAMCANCELLATION OF CDBG PROJECT D00032-25 and D00032-26 The City will hear and take testimony on the proposed cancellation of CDBG Project D00032-25 and D00032-26, Neighborhood Homework House. A thirty-day Notice of Public Hearing for Azusa’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program informs the public of Azusa’s proposed substantial changes to CDBG annual funding allocations, and/or to CDBG annual program activities, and is mandated by federal regulations (24 CFR 91.105) to ensure citizen participation for these substantial changes. The proposed cancellation of CDBG Project D00032-25 and D00032-26, Neighborhood Homework House, is at the request of the public service provider, and due to the resumption of collecting complete income documentation for projects meeting the Low- and Moderate-Income (LMI) national objective and qualifying under the limited clientele category (LMC). CDBG Program ObjectivesThe primary objective of the CDBG program is the development of viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and expanding economic opportunities, principally for low‑ and‑moderate income persons. To be eligible for CDBG funding, a project must address at least one of the following national objectives: ·The activity must benefit low- and moderate-income persons; or·The activity must aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or urban blight; or·The activity must meet a certified urgent need posing a threat to health and welfare.
