Public hearing for Conditional Use Permit for wireless communication facility in Coachella.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the City of Coachella, California will conduct a public hearing at 1515 Sixth Street, Coachella CA 92236, on May 6, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., to consider the following:
Conditional Use Permit (CUP) #399 for the APC Towers project located at 49640 Oates Lane, in Coachella, California (APN 603-300-013, as shown on map below) in the Manufacturing Service (M-S) zone. The proposed project is for the construction of an 85-foot high wireless communication facility designed as a mono-palm to be erected on a lease area of about 2,500 square feet. The proposed project includes a waiver request for the design, and/or other requirements and restrictions set forth in Section 17.86.090 of the Coachella Municipal Code. Applicant: APC Towers, David Elliott, Eukon Group.
The City has determined that the project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15332 projects characterized as in-fill development meeting the following conditions: (a) The project is consistent with the applicable general plan designation and all applicable general plan policies as well as with applicable zoning designation and regulations; (b) The proposed development occurs within city limits on a project site of no more than five acres substantially surrounded by urban uses; (c) The project site has no value as habitat for endangered, rare or threatened species; (d) Approval of the project would not result in any significant effects relating to traffic, noise, air quality, or water quality; (e) The site can be adequately served by all required utilities and public services. The project satisfies the above criteria and as such, no environmental review is required.
Copies of the Application materials submitted are available for public inspection at the Coachella Development Services Department 53990 Enterprise Way, Coachella, CA 92236 between the hours of 7:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. City Hall is closed on Fridays. (Se Habla Español).

You may request to speak via zoom by contacting the Planning Commission Secretary through the above means before 5:30 p.m. on the day of the meeting and requesting a Zoom link to the meeting. Public comments received either via email, or telephonically, or via Zoom must be limited to a maximum of 250 words written or three minutes spoken.
