PUBLIC NOTICE HUMBOLDT COUNTY PLANNING AND BUILDING DEPARTMENT NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETINGS FOR DISCUSSION OF POSSIBLE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) APPLICATION IN PERSON: A public meeting will be held in the large meeting room on the ground floor of the main library on Saturday, May 2, 2026, beginning at 10:30 a.m. The main library is located at 1313 3rd St, Eureka. In anticipation of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding opportunity, the County is interested in gathering residents' ideas for possible activities to be included in an application. CDBG has proposed offering $5 million per jurisdiction for eligible infrastructure projects. Housing projects will not be eligible this year. The purpose of this meeting is to review CDBG eligible activities and collect residents' views on community development needs, which include services, facilities, and/or infrastructure that will improve livability within the community. Projects must benefit low- and moderate-income households. If you represent a non-profit organization, bring your project idea with a clear purpose and a rough budget to either of these meetings. ONLINE: An additional meeting will be held via Zoom for the same purpose on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. (https://zoom.us/j/83412331710).
