PUBLIC NOTICE OF PROPOSED RATE INCREASE AND PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lewiston Community Services District will hold a public hearing regarding proposed increases to water and wastewater (sewer) service charges. PUBLIC HEARING: April 23, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. LOCATION: Lewiston Community Center, 130 Texas Ave. Lewiston, CA. The Lewiston Community Services District Board of Directors is proposing to increase the current water and wastewater service rates by 7% each year for the next 5 years, effective July 1, 2026. Proposed rate increases are necessary to cover operations and maintenance costs, and establish emergency reserve funds as required by the state regulations. Pursuant to California Constitution Article XIIID (Proposition 218) property owners and customers may submit a written protest before the close of the public hearing. If written protests are received from a majority of effected parcels the proposed rates cannot be imposed. Protests must be in writing and include: • Name of property owner or registered customer • Service address or parcel number • Signature of owner or registered customer • Stated opposition to the proposed rate increases. • Mailed to: Lewiston Community Services District-Rate Protest, P.O. Box 164, Lewiston CA. 96052. • Only one protest per parcel will be counted. Written protests must be received prior to the end of the public hearing. Written protests may be submitted in person during the public hearing. Copies of the 2026 rate study and proposed rates are available for review at the district office during business hours and are posted online at the website, http://lewistoncsd.specialdistrict.org.
