NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that on April 28, 2026 at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, the City Council of the City of Oakley will hold a Public Hearing at the Council Chambers located at 3231 Main Street, Oakley, CA 94561 for the purposes of considering an application as described below: Project Name: Zoning Text Amendments (RZ 2026-001) " Adoption of State of California Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Law Government Code Sections 66310-66342 and Repeal Certain Sections of Oakley Municipal Code (OMC) Section 9.1.1102 Accessory Dwelling Units. Project Location: Citywide Applicant: City of Oakley, 3231 Main Street, Oakley, CA 94561 Request: The City of Oakley is initiating a Rezoning application (RZ 2026-001) to repeal certain sections of the Oakley Municipal Code Section 9.1.1102 Accessory Dwelling Units which consists of Oakleys local regulations related to ADUs and replace with adoption of the States ADU law by reference (Government Code Sections 66310-66342). The purpose of this amendment is to ensure the Citys ordinance is always up to date and in compliance with State law, which has continuously been updated, while also maintaining some of Oakleys existing ADU regulations not superseded by state law. This amendment will also direct potential applicants to the most up to date State regulations providing them with accurate ADU tools and regulations (Project). How to Review: The Staff Report and its attachments will be available for public review, on or before April 23, 2026 at City Hall, 3231 Main Street, Oakley, CA 94561 or online at https://www.oakleyca.gov/129/Agendas-Minutes by navigating to the April 28, 2026 City Council agenda and clicking the project title link. Interested persons are invited to submit written comments prior to and may testify at the public hearing. Written comments may be submitted to Jose Cortez, Senior Planner at the City of Oakley, 3231 Main Street, Oakley, CA 94561 or by email to JCortez@ci.Oakley.ca.us.
