NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CITY COUNCIL CITY OF PALM SPRINGS EMPLOYEE VACANCIES AND RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION EFFORTS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Palm Springs, California, will hold a public hearing at its meeting of May 12, 2026. The City Council meeting begins at 5:30 PM, 3200 East Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs. View the City Council meeting live at the City’s website at www.palmspringsca.gov/psctv, YouTube, or Channel 17 (Spectrum). Effective January 1, 2025, Government Code section 3502.3 requires the City of Palm Springs (“City”) to present information on the status of vacancies at the City of Palm Springs and the City’s recruitment and retention efforts at a public hearing before the Palm Springs City Council at least once per fiscal year. Government Code section 3502.3 also requires the City to identify during the public hearing any necessary changes to City of Palm Springs policies, procedures, and recruitment activities that may contribute to obstacles in the hiring process. At the public hearing, a recognized employee organization for a bargaining unit is entitled to make a presentation to the Palm Springs City Council the status of vacancies and recruitment and retention efforts for positions within that bargaining unit. The staff report and other supporting documents regarding the City’s recruitment and retention efforts are available for public review online and at City Hall between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. A copy of the staff report and other supporting documents will be available for examination and comment in the Office of the City Clerk, City of Palm Springs, 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs, California, 92262. PUBLIC COMMENTS: • You may provide oral comments at the in-person hearing. Alternatively, you may provide oral comments by teleconference (remotely) by following instructions on the posted agenda. Agendas are available at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting by visiting www.palmspringsca.gov/agendas • Written comments may be submitted to the City Council by the Online Public Comment Form at www.palmspringsca.gov or letter to the address below. Transmittal prior to the start of the meeting is required.
