PUBLIC NOTICEPUBLIC MEETING AND 30-DAY PUBLIC COMMENT PERIODPROPOSED PLANSINSTALLATION RESTORATION PROGRAM SITES 11, 12 AND 13NAVAL BASE POINT LOMA OLD TOWN, SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA WHY ARE YOU BEING NOTIFIED: The Department of the Navy, in coordination with California Department of Toxic Substances Control and the San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board (environmental regulatory agencies), is announcing a public meeting to present the proposed environmental cleanup plans (Proposed Plans) at three separate sites on a portion of Naval Base Point Loma (NBPL) Old Town, in San Diego, California. ATTEND THE PUBLIC MEETINGMay 19, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pmSouthwestern Yacht Club, 2702 Qualtrough Street, San Diego, CA 92106 BACKGROUND: The Navy will present the Proposed Plans that describe the results of environmental investigations conducted at the three sites. The plans evaluate and summarize the feasibility, cost and long-term effectiveness of cleanup alternatives and explain the basis of preferred alternatives. PUBLIC REVIEW AND COMMENT PERIODMay 19, 2026 through June 18, 2026 The Navy invites interested members of the public to review and comment on the Proposed Plans for Installation Restoration Program Sites 11, 12 and 13. Public comments must be submitted in writing and postmarked or emailed no later than June 18, 2026.Please send all comments to the NBPL Remedial Project Manager,Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Southwest, 750 Pacific Highway, 11th Floor Environmental, San Diego, CA 92132. Comments can also be sent by e-mail to NBPL_PAO@us.navy.mil no later than June 18, 2026.
