CITY OF SAN RAFAEL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE SAN RAFAEL PLANNING COMMISSION On March 24, 2026, the San Rafael Planning Commission will meet and consider: 1. Amendments to Title 14 of the San Rafael Municipal Code (Zoning Code) in order to add clarifying language to simplify and streamline existing zoning regulations. Modifications include new and modified definitions, and possible changes to Appeals Chapter. 2. An Amendment to the General Plan - Safety and Resilience Element to add the City's local hazard mitigation plans (LHMPs) and enable the City to continue to comply with Assembly Bill (AB) 2140, passed in 2006. DATE/TIME: Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 7:00 P.M. LOCATION: Large Conference Room, on the Third Floor of City Hall, 1400 Fifth Avenue, San Rafael, CA 94901(Please note new location) ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW: The project is determined to be exempt from review pursuant to CEQA Guidelines 15061(b)(3) as it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the activity in question may have a significant effect on the environment; and The project is determined to be exempt from review pursuant to CEQA Guidelines 15162 Subsequent EIR and Negative Declaration. The General Plan Environmental Impact Report (EIR) was adopted on August 2, 2021. This minor text amendment is consistent with the original EIR, therefore no further review is needed.
