NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to law, the Whittier Historic Resources Commission will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. , (or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard), in the Council Chamber, 13230 Penn Street, Whittier, California, to consider Certificate of Appropriateness No. HRC250007, a request for foundation repair, restoration of the front entry porch, and rebuilding the exterior wood trellis and brick wall along Hadley Street, for the property located at 6354 Painter Avenue (known as the Lindley Baldwin/Washington Hadley residence, City of Whittier Landmark No. 93) and more particularly described as Assessor's Identification No. (AIN) 8137012025 in the City of Whittier. (Applicant: Jay Summers and Owner: Banning Hospitality Group Inc.). The project is categorically exempt from the environmental review process, pursuant to Section 15308, Class 8 (Actions by Regulatory Agencies for Protection of the Environment) of the California Environmental Quality Act . Please review the March 11, 2026, meeting agenda which will be available on the city's website no later than 72hours prior to the public hearing https://www.cityofwhittier.org/government/agendasandminutes for the most uptodate options for participating at Historic Resources Commission Meetings. Public Comment options for Historic Resources Commission Meetings : " Email: comdev@cityofwhittier.org (must be submitted prior to 4:30 p.m. on March 11, 2026) Any person wishing to comment on the proposed project may do so in writing between the date of this notice and the public hearing(s); or may be heard in person or via Zoom at the time noted above. All comments must be received prior to, or at the time of the public hearing(s). All such comments will be submitted to the Historic Resources Commission, and the Historic Resources Commission will consider such comments, in addition to any oral testimony, before making a decision on the proposed project. If this project is challenged in court, the issues may be limited to those raised at the public hearing, described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Historic Resources Commission at, or prior to, the public hearing. Be advised that as a result of public hearings and comments, the Historic Resources Commission may amend, in whole or in part, the proposed project. Accordingly, the designations, development standards, design or improvements, or any properties or lands within the boundaries of the proposed project, may be changed in a way other than specifically proposed.
