Invitation to Bid BID DATE: Monday June 1, 2026 @ 2:00PM ET PROJECT: Bay Laurel Center CDD Utility Operations Facility Wharton-Smith, Inc. is proudly the Construction Manager serving Bay Laurel Center CDD and we are soliciting proposals from prequalified subcontractors for GMP 2?Main Building Package in support of the new Utility Operations Facility. The project located at 9850 SW 84th Court, Ocala, FL 34481 consists of: a new 7,800 SF Utility Operations Building (Bldg. A), Covered Fuel Depot (Bldg. B), Pre-engineered Metal Pole Barn (Bldg. D), on a 7.5 Acre site including but not limited to: earthwork, underground utilities, paving, landscaping, fencing, concrete, masonry, structural steel, roofing, sealants, fireproofing, doors, frames & hardware, overhead doors, windows, storefront, gypsum wallboard assemblies, acoustical ceilings, sealed concrete flooring, resilient and tile flooring, painting, signage, visual display & marker boards, toilet accessories and division 10 specialties, lockers, aluminum canopies, residential food service specialties, shelving, modular cubicle and other (FF&E) furnishings, casework, pre-engineered metal building, fire sprinklers, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and low voltage/technology systems. GMP 1 for the Early Procurement Bid Package, has already been procured for the following scopes: all Site Work and the following equipment to be furnished and delivered to the site, excluding installation phase: Main Distribution Switchboard, and panelboards. The complete Fuel Depot, Diesel Generator & Transfer Switches shall be furnished and installed onsite as part of the early procurement bid package. This bid is for GMP 2 for the remaining scopes/trades including installation only of the Main Distribution Switchboard, and panelboards (furnished by other). A non-mandatory Virtual Pre-Bid Meeting will occur on May 5th. Prospective bidders are encouraged to attend; however, attendance is not mandatory. Bids will be received via email to comest@whartonsmith.com, or mailed or hand delivered to the office of Wharton-Smith, Inc., located at 750 Monroe Road, Sanford, FL 32771 no later than Monday June 1, 2026 @ 2:00PM. Bids received after the appointed date and time are subject to rejection. The RFI deadline is May 15th. Please submit RFIs to comest@whartonsmith.com.
