NOTICE OF RULEMAKING REGARDING
THE RULES OF PROCEDURE OF THE
UNIVERSITY PARK RECREATION DISTRICT
A public hearing will be conducted by the Board of Supervisors of the University Park Recreation District ("District") on March 13, 2026, at the Business Offices at 1:00 p.m. located at 8301 The Park Boulevard, University Park, FL 34201.
In accord with Chapters 120 and 418, Florida Statutes, the District hereby gives the public notice of its intent to adopt its proposed amended Rules of Procedure, Rule No. 2023-02. The purpose and effect of the amended proposed Rules of Procedure is to provide for efficient and effective District. Prior notice of rule development was published in the Bradenton Herald - Tribune on February 4, 2026.
The amended Rules of Procedure may address such areas as the Board of Supervisors, officers and voting, district offices, public information and inspection of records, policies, public meetings, hearings and workshops, rulemaking proceedings and competitive purchase including procedure under the Consultants Competitive Negotiation Act, procedure regarding auditor selection, purchase of insurance, pre-qualification, construction contracts, goods, supplies and materials, maintenance services, contractual services and protests with respect to proceedings, as well as any other area of the general operation of the District.

If anyone chooses to appeal any decision of the Board with respect to any matter considered at a public hearing, such person will need a record of the proceedings and should accordingly ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made which includes the testimony and evidence upon which such appeal is to be based. At the hearing, staff or Supervisors may participate in the public hearing by speaker telephone.
