NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PROPOSED WATER RATE ADJUSTMENTS ISLAND WATER ASSOCIATION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Sanibel City Council will hold a public hearing to consider approval of proposed multi-year water rate and fee adjustments for Island WaterAssociation (IWA), serving Sanibel and Captiva Islands. DATE: March 3, 2026 TIME: 9:15 AM (time certain) PLACE: Sanibel City Hall, Council Chambers, 800 Dunlop Road, Sanibel, Florida The proposed adjustments consist of an 18% increase to all billed service rates for each of the years 2026, 2027, and 2028, and adjustments to membership and miscellaneous fees, as approved by the IWA Board of Directors following a professional water rate and fee study by Raftelis Financial Consultants, Inc. For a typical residential customer using 5,000 gallons per month, estimated monthly increases are $5.29 in 2026, $6.26 in 2027, and $7.41 in 2028.
