Polk County will hold a virtual workshop to seek community feedback and input about both the future of the County and strategies to address extreme rainfall impacts in Polk County. EXTREME RAINFALL STUDY - VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT: Polk County is also requesting public input on the findings of its Extreme Rainfall Study, conducted as part of the Countys Vulnerability Assessment funded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. The study evaluates projected impacts from future extreme rainfall events and associated flooding throughout Polk County, including the municipalities of Auburndale, Bartow, Davenport, Dundee, Eagle Lake, Fort Meade, Frostproof, Haines City, Highland Park, Hillcrest Heights, Lake Alfred, Lake Hamilton, Lakeland, Lake Wales, Mulberry, Polk City, and Winter Haven. Workshop attendees will have the opportunity to review study results, ask questions, and provide feedback to help inform future resilience and planning efforts.
