Published in the Washington County News on March 12, 2026 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given pursuant to K.S.A. 12-504, 12-506, and 15-427 that the City of Palmer, Kansas, has deemed it necessary and expedient to vacate the following alley and street located in the City of Palmer, Kansas while reserving to the City and the public certain utility easements: That certain platted yet undeveloped twenty foot (20) alley lying between Outlot E and Block One (1) in the City of Palmer, Kansas; and that certain platted yet undeveloped and unnamed sixty foot (60) street starting at the northwest corner of Outlot E and running south and adjacent to the northwest corner of Lot Four (4) in Block One (1) in the City of Palmer, Kansas; said platted yet undeveloped and unnamed sixty foot (60) road thus continuing south and described as follows: A tract of land in the Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of Section 7, Township 5 South, Range 3 East, of the 6th P.M., in Washington County, Kansas, prepared by Clint J. Friedrichs, PS 1709 on May 20, 2025, being more particularly described as follows: COMMENCING at the Southwest (SW) corner of the Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of said Section 7; THENCE North 0000'00" East along the West line of said Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) for a distance of 1057.57 feet to the Northeast (NE) corner of an existing tract, said point also being the POINT OF BEGINNING; THENCE continuing North 0000'00" East along said West line for a distance of 181.10 feet; THENCE North 9000'00" East for a distance of 60.00 feet to the Northwest (NW) corner of Lot 4 in Block 1 in the Original Town of Palmer; THENCE South 0000'00" West along the West line of said Block 1 for a distance of 181.10 feet to the Southwest (SW) corner of Lot 2 in Block 1 in the Original Town of Palmer; THENCE South 9000'00" West for a distance of 60.00 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING; and a tract of land adjacent to Lots 1 and 2 of Block 1 in the Original Town of Palmer, Washington County, Kansas, being more fully described as follows: BEGINNING at the Southwest (SW) corner of said Lot 1, said point being marked with a x 30 rebar with pink plastic cap (w/pc); Thence North 000000 East for 62.41 feet; Thence North 900000 West for 60.00 feet to a x 30 rebar (w/pc); Thence South 000000 East for 152.46 to a x 30 rebar (w/pc); Thence North 334038 East for 108.20 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
