CITY OF AVENTURA PUBLIC NOTICE OF PROPOSED ORDINANCES NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the Aventura School Governing Board (ACES & DSAHS) Meeting, to be held at 9:00 a.m. at the Aventura Government Center (19200 W. Country Club Drive, Aventura, FL 33180), the City Commission/Governing Board will consider the adoption of the following ordinances on second reading entitled: AVENTURA CITY COMMISSION, ACTING IN ITS CAPACITY AS THE GOVERNING BOARD FOR THE AVENTURA CITY OF EXCELLENCE SCHOOL (ACES): AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AVENTURA, FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE ATTACHED AVENTURA CITY OF EXCELLENCE SCHOOL OPERATING AND CAPITAL BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2026/2027 (JULY 1 JUNE 30), PURSUANT TO SECTION 4.05 OF THE CITY CHARTER; AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS ESTABLISHED BY THE BUDGET; PROVIDING FOR BUDGETARY CONTROL; PROVIDING FOR PERSONNEL AUTHORIZATION; PROVIDING FOR GIFTS AND GRANTS; PROVIDING FOR AMENDMENTS; PROVIDING FOR ENCUMBRANCES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. The proposed ordinances will be available online at cityofaventura.com for viewing or printing under the Aventura Governing Board (ACES & DSAHS) Meeting Agenda for May 21, 2026, or may be requested through the City Clerk's Office at (305) 466-8901 or cityclerk@cityofaventura.com. Interested parties may participate in the public hearings and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinances. Any person wishing to address the City Commission/Governing Board on an item at the public hearing may do so after the Mayor opens the public hearing. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, all persons who are disabled and who need special accommodations to participate in this proceeding because of that disability should contact the Office of the City Clerk, (305) 466-8901 or cityclerk@cityofaventura.com, not later than two business days prior to such proceedings. If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the City Commission/Governing Board with respect to any matter considered at a meeting or hearing, that person will need a record of the proceeding and, for such purpose, may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceeding is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
