PUBLIC NOTICE HARDSHIP EXEMPTION FROM SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS The Hardee County Board of County Commissioners adopted Ordinance Numbers 02-17 and 04-01, which authorized a financial hardship exemption to the solid waste disposal and fire rescue portions of the special assessment fees. Property owners qualifying for this exemption will not have to pay the current year’s approved non-ad valorem taxes toward the special assessment fees for solid waste disposal and fire rescue assessment fees. Even if approved for exemption, property owners will be responsible for solid waste collection fee if applicable. Applications will only be accepted May 1, 2026, through May 31, 2026. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Applications will not be accepted after May 31, 2026.
