PUBLIC NOTICE GLADES COUNTY STATE HOUSING INITIATIVES PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM (SHIP) NOTICE OF FUNDING AVAILABILITY The State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program has awarded $350,000.00 to Glades County for the State Fiscal Year 2025-2026. SHIP funds will be used to provide assistance under the following Strategies: Purchase Assistance Down payment and closing cost assistance to eligible and pre-qualified homebuyer by paying a portion of their down payment, closing costs and principal buy-down. Owner Occupied Rehabilitation Assistance to eligible homeowners with renovations to preserve and maintain their home and/or assist physically disabled households with modifications to remove barriers and make housing accessible. Aesthetic (cosmetic) upgrades are not covered by this program. Disaster Assistance Assistance to eligible homeowners with rehabilitation or reconstruction of their home in the aftermath of a disaster, as declared by Executive Order. Emergency Repair Assistance for repairs such as, but not limited to, roof, ramp, air conditioner, electric or plumbing that require quick action to prevent further damage to unit or unit is uninhabitable because of necessary repairs needed. Foreclosure Preventions Assistance to homeowners who are at least three months but no more than six months in arrears in their first mortgage and are not under an active foreclosure action due to an eligible hardship. Glades County is accepting housing applications on an ongoing basis. New applications will be accepted at the Glades County Community Development Building located at 198 6th Street, Moore Haven, Florida 33471 during office hours of Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. For more information contact the Glades County SHIP Coordinator at 863-946-6018. Special priority will be given to persons with special needs. Persons with special needs are defined in Florida State Statue 420.0004(13). The SHIP Program is established in accordance with Section 420.907-420.9079 Florida Statute: Florida Administrative Code Chapter 67-37.
