Agricultural Land Use Conversion Study NOTICE OF VIRTUAL PUBLIC WORKSHOP Bartow, FL The public is invited to participate in a public workshop to learn about the Agricultural Land Use Conversion Study and share ideas and comments to address impacts of agricultural land conversion in the region. The Central Florida Regional Planning Council (CFRPC) is conducting a regional agricultural study focused on land use conversion threats facing the citrus industry and broader agricultural sector in the Central Florida Heartland region including Polk, Hardee, DeSoto, Highlands, and Okeechobee Counties. This agricultural study will analyze the implications of agricultural land use conversions, identify key drivers and trends, and assess the resulting potential impacts. Informed by the values of Heartland 2060: Building a Resilient Region, the project will offer planning and technical assistance to both the region and individual communities, ensuring informed decisions that align with regional sustainability, economic development, and ecological preservation goals.
