RESOLUTION 2026-018 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF FRUITLAND PARK, FLORIDA, CALLING FOR A REGULAR ELECTION TO FILL VACANCIES ON THE CITY COMMISSION; SETTING AN ELECTION DATE; NAMING THE VACANCIES TO BE FILLED; ESTABLISHING A POLLING LOCATION; ESTABLISHING A QUALIFYING PERIOD; ESTABLISHING ELECTION PROCEDURES; PROVIDNG FOR ELECTION ARRANGEMENTS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Fruitland Park enacted Ordinance 2015-024 establishing five district numbers differentiating five commission distracts to be placed on an election ballot; and WHEREAS, the term of office of Commissioner, currently held by Patrick DeGrave, seated as District 1, expires in November of 2026; and WHEREAS, the term of office of Commissioner, currently held by Martina Williams, seated as District 2, expires in November of 2026; and WHEREAS, District5 was vacated on the death of former Commissioner Bell, and consistent with Section 3.05 of the City Charter, the remaining members of the Commission appointed Michael Raysin to fill the term until the City’s next regular election which is scheduled for November 3, 2026; and WHEREAS, at the November 3, 2026, the voters will select a commissioner to fill the unexpired term for District 5 ending November 2028; and WHEREAS, the City Commissioner of the City of Fruitland Park desires to establish dates for a qualifying period, the polling locations and date, and to provide for election arrangements and procedures; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF FRUITLAND PARK, FLORIDA:
