Candidates must qualify for City Commission elections by June 12, 2026.

RESOLUTION NO. # 10- 2026


PROVIDING FOR THE METHOD 
AND TIME OF QUALIFICATION OF CANDIDATES


WHEREAS, under the Charter and the Ordinance of the City of Kissimmee, a General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Kissimmee on the 18th day of August 2026; and


WHEREAS, it will be necessary for City Commission Seat No. 2 and City Commission Seat No. 4 to be elected by the qualified electors of the City of Kissimmee in said General Municipal Election; and


THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that each candidate for the Office of City Commissioner shall qualify separately for the office he/she is a candidate, as now provided by Article II, Chapter 2, Section 7 of the Kissimmee Charter. Candidates must be qualified to vote in said election, shall have been a resident of the City for twelve (12) months immediately prior to registering for the particular office, and shall be filed with the City Clerk's Office between 12:00 p.m. on June 8, 2026, and 12:00 p.m. on June 12, 2026. Names of all candidates for the said office shall be printed on the official ballot who have been qualified and paid the election assessment fee required in F.S.  99.093. If necessary, a run-off will be held in the City of Kissimmee on November 3, 2026.


RESOLVED FURTHER, that this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage by the City Commission, City of Kissimmee, Florida.

ESTABLECIENDO EL MTODO 
Y EL PLAZO DE CALIFICACIN DE LOS CANDIDATOS


CONSIDERANDO QUE, de conformidad con la Carta Constitucional y la Ordenanza de la Ciudad de Kissimmee, habr una eleccin municipal general en la Ciudad de Kissimmee el 18 de agosto del 2026; y


CONSIDERANDO QUE, ser necesario que se elija en dicha Eleccin Municipal General por los electores cualificados de la Ciudad de Kissimmee para la Silla No. 2 de la Comisin de la Ciudad y la Silla No. 4 de la Comisin de la Ciudad; y


CONSECUENTEMENTE, SEA RESUELTO, que cada candidato a la Oficina de la Comisin de la Ciudad debe calificar por separado para la oficina particular para la que l/ella es un candidato, segn lo dispuesto actualmente en el Artculo II, Captulo 2, Seccin 7 de la Carta Constitucional de Kissimmee. Los candidatos deben ser electores cualificados para votar en dicha eleccin, deben ser residentes de la ciudad por doce (12) meses inmediatamente anteriores a su inscripcin para el cargo en particular, y estar registrados con la Oficina de la Secretara Municipal entre 12:00 p.m. del 8 de junio de 2026 y las 12:00 p.m. del 12 de junio de 2026. Los nombres de todos los candidatos para estos cargos sern publicados en la boleta oficial despus de haber calificado y pagado la tarifa de evaluacin electoral requerida en el  99.093 del Estatuto de Florida. En caso de ser necesario, habr una votacin de desempate en la Ciudad de Kissimmee el 3 de noviembre de 2026.


SE DETERMINA, que esta Resolucin tomar efecto inmediatamente tras su aprobacin por la Comisin de la Ciudad, Ciudad de Kissimmee, Florida.
