PUBLIC NOTICE The Glades County Department of Emergency Management has been tasked by the Department of Homeland Security through the State Division of Emergency Management to update every five years the currently adopted 2021 Glades County/Moore Haven Local Mitigation Strategy Plan (LMS). Maintaining a LMS is a process through which the vulnerabilities of the community to different types of hazards are assessed, a variety of plans, programs, and projects are identified to decrease the magnitude of those vulnerabilities, and decisions are made about how to implement the necessary efforts. The meeting will be held on Tuesday May, 5th, 2026 at 10:00am at the EOC (1097 Health Park Drive, Moore Haven). Topics of discussion will be the revised Goals and Objectives, vote on new Chair and Vice Chair, risk analysis, and a vote on the final list of mitigation projects.
