NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR PROPOSED ACQUISITION OF REAL PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF ORLANDO Pursuant to Chapter 13, Section 7 of the Charter of the City of Orlando, notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., in Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, City Hall, 400 S. Orange Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801, concerning the proposed acquisition of certain real property by the City of Orlando. The City of Orlando proposes to purchase certain real property located at 806 and 850 South Hughey Avenue and 405 West Gore Street, Orlando, FL 32801 consisting of approximately 3.4 acres of land with 57,517 square feet of office and industrial/warehouse space, a 10,000 square foot covered canopy and 121 paved parking spaces, and more particularly shown on the map below (three outlined parcels). The real property is owned by the Jennie F. Thomas Revocable Trust and Joanne F. Garner Revocable Trust, both with an address of 850 S. Hughey Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801. The Citys estimate of the fair market value of the property based on two recent appraisals is between $8,800,000.00 and $11,300,000.00. The proposed purchase price is $9,400,000.00. The source of funds proposed to be utilized for the acquisition is Fund TRE0042_P. Anyone wishing to be heard regarding this matter should plan to attend the public hearing. Please note that if a person decides to appeal any decision made by the Council with respect to this matter, he/she will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
