PUBLIC NOTICE CITY OF SUNRISE, FLORIDA NOTICE OF FUNDING AVAILABILITY FOR THE RESIDENTIAL REHABILITATION PROGRAM Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) The City of Sunrise is pleased to announce the availability of approximately $880,896 in funding to address owner-occupied residential rehabilitation needs for low-income households throughout the City. The source of this program is approximately $211,850 in FY 2024 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding and approximately $669,046 in FY 2024-2025 State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) funding. Owner-Occupied Residential Rehabilitation program funds will provide home repair assistance to low- income homeowners experiencing conditions in and around the home that pose a threat to the health, safety, and welfare of household occupants. Interior or exterior remodeling (cosmetic repairs) are not eligible within this program. ESTIMATED ALLOCATIONS Allocations included in this funding notice are as follows: Funding Source and Year Allocation for Residential Rehabilitation Program CDBG FY 2024 - 2025 $211,850 SHIP FY 2024 2025 $669,046 PROGRAM Program funds will be distributed to income eligible applicants for the following program: RESIDENTIAL REHABILITATION PROGRAM This activity provides homeowner assistance for the repair and rehabilitation of existing owner-occupied residential structures. Eligible costs include labor and materials for the replacement of principal fixtures and components of existing structures. Eligible households may be at or below 80% of area median income, adjusted for family size. Repair priorities under the Citys Owner-Occupied Residential Rehabilitation Program include: 1. Correcting municipal and/or Florida Building Code Violations 2. Abating any health and safety problems in the residence. 3. Providing safe electrical and mechanical systems 4. Stopping weather penetration to make the residence more energy efficient. 5. Improving the general condition of the structure SELECTION CRITERIA The gross annual household income must not exceed the below income guidelines: Household Size Maximum Income Limit (Up to 80% AMI) * 1 $64,550 2 $73,800 3 $83,000 4 $92,200 5 $99,600 6 $107,000 7 $114,350 8 $121,750 *Based upon income limits effective April 1, 2025. Subject to change. Interested parties are invited to apply via Neighborly, the Citys electronic application portal, beginning 9:00 AM on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 through 5:00 PM, Tuesday, March 31, 2026 or upon receipt of the first one hundred (100) applications, whichever comes first. Applications received prior to 9:00 AM on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 will not be considered. Prior application versions will not be considered. Electronic application submission can be completed by visiting: https://portal.neighborlysoftware.com/SUNRISEFL/Participant Applications will be processed on a first come, first qualified, first served basis, contingent upon funding availability. If additional funding is available after applications have been processed, the program will be reopened. First priority will be given to applicants with special needs, including households where a child has developmental disabilities, applicants who live independently with a disabling condition, individuals receiving disability benefits, and other applicants who meet the special needs criteria. First priority consideration shall extend until such time as regulatory funding set asides have been met. Following the satisfaction of regulatory set asides, the City may elect to continue to give first priority to special needs households. Preference will be given to applicants currently approved and awaiting funding. Funds may not be used to repair, rehabilitate or purchase mobile homes. Other restrictions may apply. Should the City of Sunrise receive allocated funds greater than the estimated amount listed above, the City reserves the right to allocate additional funds to the programs listed above.
