gpn16 hdh1270 Hdh1270 gpn16 PUBLIC NOTICE CITY OF HAMPTON, GEORGIA NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING PROPOSED GAS STATION MORATORIUM Notice is hereby given that the Mayor and City Council of the City of Hampton, Georgia will hold a public hearing during its regular City Council meeting on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, which meeting begins at 6:30 p.m., at Hampton City Hall, 17 East Main Street South, Hampton, Georgia 30228, to consider adoption of a resolution establishing a ninety (90) day moratorium on the acceptance, processing, and approval of applications for gas stations and associated development approvals within the City. If adopted, the moratorium shall become effective March 11, 2026, and shall remain in effect for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days, expiring on or about June 9, 2026, unless earlier terminated or extended by action of the Mayor and City Council in compliance with applicable law. The purpose of the moratorium is to allow the City additional time to review and evaluate zoning and development regulations applicable to gas station uses and to consider potential amendments to ensure consistency with the City's planning objectives and public infrastructure capacity. All interested persons are invited to attend the meeting and be heard at the public hearing. The Mayor and City Council may adopt the proposed moratorium at the conclusion of the public hearing during the same meeting.
