Civil Action Adoption Number:25-A-34 NOTICE OF SUMMONS BY PUBLICATION TO: CHANDLER THOMAS CANNON: You are hereby notified that the Petitioner has filed the above and foregoing Petition for Step-Parent Adoption in the Superior Court of Carroll County, Georgia, seeking to have a hearing on the Petition. The consequences of the relief requested by the Petitioner are set forth in detail by the Petition and a copy of that Petition may be obtained at the Clerk of Court's office at 311 Newnan Street, Carrollton, GA 30117 or Petitioner’s attorney, Desiree D. Duke, 539 Newnan St., Carrollton, Georgia 30117, telephone number (770) 838-5577. You are further notified that this Petition for Step-Parent Adoption was filed on the 29th day of August, 2025. The Court signed an Order authorizing service by publication on the 3rd day of April, 2026. Any biological father who is not the legal father shall lose all rights to the minor child and will neither receive notice nor be entitled to object to the adoption of the minor child unless, within thirty (30) days of receipt of such notice, he files: (1) A petition to legitimate the child pursuant to O.C.G.A. §19-7-22; and (2) Notice of the filing of the petition to legitimate with the court in which this adoption action is pending and to the person who provided such notice to the father.
