NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 2:30 P.M.in the Augusta Commission Chamber, Room 260 on the 2nd floor of the Augusta, Georgia Municipal Building, located at 535 Telfair Street, Augusta, Georgia. A pre-meeting will be held at 2:00 P.M. All people who object to or are interested in these items are welcome to attend. The BZA does not hear actual rezoning petitions. Rezoning petitions are submitted through the Planning Commission.

1. Approval of Minutes from the March 16, 2026, meeting.
2. BZA-26-07– A petition by Mooney Contracting Resources on behalf of Phil and Alison Brigham requesting a variance from Section 8-8(b) of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance to reduce the side yard setback from 10 feet to 7 feet for a home addition on property located at 3213 Dresden Way. Tax Map #032-3-008-00-0. Zoned R-1 (One-Family Residential).
3. BZA-26-08 - A petition by Will Dorsey, Jr. requesting a variance from Section 8-4(e) of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance to increase the maximum accessory building area from 1,200 square feet to 2,196 square feet on property located at 1007 Fox Den Road. Tax Map #178-0-028-00-0. Zoned R-1 (One-Family Residential).
4. BZA-26-09– A petition by John Kelley on behalf of Lowet, LLC, requesting a variance from Sections 16-1(a) and 8-8(b) of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance to reduce the side yard setback from 10 feet to 3 feet on property located at 2563 Central Avenue. Tax Map #044-1-065-00-0. Zoned R-3A (Multiple-Family Residential).
5. BZA-26-10 – A petition by Dr. Lanorris Carey, requesting a variance from Section 8-9 of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance to increase the maximum lot coverage area from 30 percent to 46 percent to construct a new single-family residence on property located at 1426 Arsenal Avenue. Tax Map #044-1-110-00-0. Zoned R-3B (Multiple-Family Residential).
6. BZA-26-11 – A petition by Lesak Holdings, LLC on behalf of ABW Properties Group, LLC, requesting variances from Sections 22-2(a)(1) and (3) of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance to permit an automobile body and fender repair shop to operate within one hundred (100) feet of a residential district, and to allow a building opening that faces the residential area on property located at 1650 Barton Chapel Road. Tax Map #054-0-028-00-0. Zoned B-2 (General Business).
