NOTICE OF DETOUR APPROVAL P. I. 0018233 ECHOLS COUNTY Notice is hereby given that the Georgia Department of Transportation has approved the use of and the routing of a detour for this project. The date of detour approval is: February 25, 2026 The proposed project would replace the existing bridge on CR 120/Howell Road over Alapaha River Overflow in Echols County, Georgia. The proposed roadway will consist of two 11-feet lanes (one in each direction) with 4-feet shoulders. The proposed bridge is 216-ft long and 33-ft wide. The total duration of construction will be approximately 12 months while traffic is directed to an offsite detour. The proposed off-site detour will be approximately 6.2 miles along GA 135, approximately 4.7 miles on US 84/SR 38 and approximately 7.4 miles on SR 129/SR 11 for a total detour length of approximately 18.3 miles and a net increase length of 15.1 miles.
