NOTICE TO BIDDERS SEALED PROPOSALS WILL BE RECEIVED by Bloom Township High School District 206 (the ‘Owner'), at the Office of the Business Manager, 100 West 10th Street, Chicago Heights, IL 60411, up to the hour of 11:00 am. on March 26, 2025 for the following work: CONCRETE STAIR REPLACEMENT at BLOOM HIGH SCHOOL BLOOM TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 206 CHICAGO HEIGHTS, ILLINOIS JOB NO. 26-206-03 There will be a pre-bid meeting March 17, 2026, at 3:30 PM. Meet at the boiler room entrance in the north parking lot. Enter north parking lot off of Dixie Hwy. Bids will be opened at that time, or shortly thereafter. Work will be let under one contract to the lowest qualified bidder. Plans and Specifications may be obtained at the office of the Architect, PLANERA + REID ARCHITECTS, 18225 Morris Ave, Homewood, Illinois, 60430. Telephone 708-747-3600. Contractors desiring to obtain plans are required to register with the Architect, complete a bidder information form, and provide A.I.A. Document A-305 (Contractor Qualification Statement). Electronic bid documents will be available at no cost. Hard copies of the bid documents will require a $100.00 deposit. The deposit is refundable if a bid is submitted and upon return to Architect of complete and undamaged sets. Contractors shall make deposit check payable to: Bloom High School District 206. IF NO BID IS SUBMITTED, DEPOSIT CHECK IS FORFEITED. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond, or a certified check payable to the order of the Owner, certified by a responsible bank for an amount not less than (10%) of the total amount of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder, if awarded the Contract, will furnish a satisfactory performance and payment bond, execute the Contract and proceed with the work. Upon failure to do so, the bidder shall forfeit the amount deposited as liquidated damages and no mistakes or errors on the part of the bidder shall excuse the bidder or entitle him to a return of the aforementioned amount. A 100% Performance Bond and a Labor/Material Bond will be required of the successful bidder, written by a Surety approved by the Owner. Bidders will examine the plans and specifications and also the location in which said work is to be done and judge for themselves all the circumstances and surrounding conditions affecting the cost and nature of the work, and all bids will be presumed to be based on such examination, familiarity and judgment. Not less than the prevailing wage shall be paid for labor on the work to be done as required by law. The successful bidder will be required to comply with the provisions of all State of Illinois and federal laws concerning public works projects as well as the State of Illinois Human Rights Act and the regulations of the Illinois Human Rights Commission. The Board of Education, Bloom Township High School District 206 reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, waive any or all irregularities or technicalities in the bid, and award the bid in the manner that best serves the interests of the Owner.
