INVITATION FOR BIDS The Mt. Morris Fire Protection District will receive bids for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Technology Systems for a New Fire Station until 10:00 o'clock A.M. local time on the 13th day of May 2026 at the Mt. Morris Fire Protection District located at 15 East Center Street in Mt. Morris, Illinois 61054 at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. The proposed work for which the Mt. Morris Fire Protection District is soliciting bids consists of one contract and includes but is not limited to the following: Provide and install the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Technology systems and system components and related appurtenances, consisting of, but not limited to HVAC equipment, plumbing fixtures, lighting and power devices as well as other associated work. If this contract is awarded it will be assigned as a sub-contract to the Construction Manager for the Project: Brown Construction Company of Milledgeville, Illinois. The Bid and Contract Documents, including Drawings and Specifications, may be obtained beginning April 29, 2026. Copies of the Bid and Contract Documents shall be obtained from the Construction Manager for the Project: Brown Construction Company. Phone: 815-225-7198. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the Mt. Morris Fire Protection District, negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid shall be submitted with each bid. A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference has been set for May 4, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. at the Mt. Morris Fire Protection District located at 15 East Center Street in Mt. Morris, Illinois 61054. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and that the BIDDER must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. The Mt. Morris Fire Protection District is an equal opportunity employer. The Mt. Morris Fire Protection District does not discriminate on the basis of handicapped status in the admission or access to, or treatment or employment in, its programs or activities. Bids may be held by the Mt. Morris Fire Protection District for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders, prior to awarding the Contract. The Mt. Morris Fire Protection District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding and also reserves the right to reject any non-responsive bid and/or non-responsible bid, and to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder deemed to be in the best interest of the District.
