NOTICE OF BOARD OF
TRUSTEES VACANCY

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a trustee vacancy exists in subdistrict 4 of the Board of Trustees of Southwestern Illinois College, Community College District No. 522, St. Clair, Madison, Monroe, Randolph, Washington, Bond, Perry and Montgomery Counties, State
of Illinois (SWIC). Section 3-7 of the Illinois Community College Act (110 ILCS 805/3-7) and SWIC Board of Trustees Policy 2001 require that the remaining members of the SWIC Board of Trustees shall fill the vacancy until the next regular consolidated election. Persons interested in seeking appointment to fill such vacancy should apply by submitting a resume listing qualifications and references to Beverly Fiss, Board Secretary, 2500 Carlyle Avenue, Belleville, Illinois or to beverly.fiss@swic.edu by 4:00 p.m. on February 27, 2026. To be
eligible for consideration for appointment, Section 3-7 of the Illinois Community College Code provides that an applicant must be a citizen of the United States of the age of 18 years or over and a resident of SWIC sub-district 4 for at least one year (sub-district listed on voter
identification card). Oral interviews will be conducted on March 4, 2026 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Marsh Conference Room (MC 1290) at the Belleville Campus, 2500 Carlyle Avenue, Belleville, Illinois 62221, and the trustee selection will be made thereafter at a
meeting of the SWIC Board of Trustees.
