PUBLIC NOTICE LW District 210 Purging Temporary Special Education Records The Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 Department of Special Services, located at 1801 E. Lincoln Hwy, New Lenox, IL, maintains student temporary records, or the information contained within them, for only five years after a student has transferred, graduated, or otherwise permanently withdrawn from school, in accordance with the Illinois State Board of Education's rules governing school records. Destruction of these records is necessary to protect students from improper or unauthorized disclosure of confidential information. This notice applies only to temporary special education records and does not affect a student's permanent records maintained by the District. The temporary records of special education students who transferred, graduated, or otherwise permanently withdrew from Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 during the 2020-2021 school year will be destroyed on or after July 1, 2026. Students or their legal guardians may obtain these records by contacting the Director of Special Services at 815-462-2254. Requests must be received by May 29, 2026. If no student, parent, or legal guardian responds to this notice, the District will assume consent to destroy the student's records. Member districts include Manhattan School District 114, New Lenox School District 122, Frankfort School District 157C, Mokena School District 159, Summit Hill School District 161, and Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210.
