PUBLIC NOTICE On Monday, May 5th, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. the Plainfield Community Consolidated School District #202 will be holding a remote meeting for the parents/guardians of students who are Homeschooled. Also, on Monday, May 5th, 2026, at 3:45 p.m. the Plainfield Community Consolidated School District #202 will be holding a remote meeting for St. Mary Immaculate Parish School students and families. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss how students with disabilities who attend private school and students that are homeschooled within the district will be served by Plainfield District 202 during the 2026-2027 school year. In accordance with the requirements of the federal individuals with Disabilities Act of 2004 (“IDEA 2004”) public school districts must spend a portion of their Federal part B special education funds in order to provide identified students with disabilities who attend private schools with the opportunity to equitably participate in special education services offered by the district. As part of that process, the district must conduct a public meeting in order to discuss its plans to fulfill that responsibility for the upcoming school year. In addition, the district wishes to hear parents' feedback about its services. Finally, the district will share information about how students with suspected disabilities can access the process offered by our district for screening and evaluating. If you have questions or concerns in advance of the meeting, please call Elizabeth Massaro at (815) 577-4023. (Published in Herald-News April 14, 2026) 2318733
