PUBLIC NOTICE Bureau-Putnam Area Rural Transit, on behalf of the Bureau County 5311 Program and the State of Illinois Grant for Downstate Operating Assistance Program Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by: Bureau-Putnam Area Rural Transit, on behalf of the Bureau County 5311 program and Downstate Operating Assistance Program. On: Monday 03/16/2024 At: 10:00am Where: This will be held at BPART, 535 Elm Place(ground floor), Princeton, IL 61356. i. For the purpose of considering projects for which financial assistance is being sought from the Illinois Department of Transportation, pursuant to the Illinois Department of Transportation's general authority to make such Grants, and which is generally described as follows: 1. Description of Projects: i. Bureau-Putnam Area Rural Transit, on behalf of Bureau and Putnam counties, is seeking grant funding through the FTA Section 5311 Program as well as State of Illinois Downstate Operating Assistance Program for transit assistance. Funding for this program will be used to provide general public transportation for citizens of Bureau and Putnam counties during FY2026 (July 1, 2026-June 30, 2027). Total funds being requested is $224,837 in federal funding and $2,413,687 in downstate operating assistance. 1. Relocation Assistance will not be required. 2. Environment This project is being implemented to minimize environmental impact. 3. Comprehensive Planning This project is in conformance with comprehensive transportation planning in the area. 4. Elderly and Disabled All new equipment included in this project will meet ADA accessibility rules for the elderly and persons with disabilities. ii. At the hearing, the Bureau-Putnam Area Rural Transit will afford an opportunity for interested agencies to be heard with respect to the social, economic, and environmental aspects of the project. Interested persons may submit orally or in writing, evidence and recommendations with respect to said project. iii.
