ORDINANCE NO. 2026 –05 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF JACKSON, COUNTY OF OCEAN, STATE OF NEW JERSEY ESTABLISHING CHAPTER 164 ENTITLED PORTABLE SANITARY FACILITIES BE IT ORDAINED by the Township Council of the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey, as follows: Chapter 164, entitled Portable Sanitary Facilities, is hereby established as follows: 1-1 Purpose. The purpose of this Chapter is to establish reasonable regulations for the placement, permitting, and maintenance of portable sanitary facilities in order to protect the public health, safety, and welfare, prevent nuisances, and ensure appropriate setbacks and screening within residential and commercial areas. 1-2 Definitions. For purposes of this section, “portable sanitary facility,” “portable toilet,” or “porta john” shall mean any temporary, self-contained structure intended for human sanitary use and waste collection. 164-3 Permit Required.
