The Ordinance published herewith was introduced and passed on first reading at a regular meeting of the Mayor and Borough Council of the Borough of Spring Lake on February 24, 2026 and will be further considered for final passage after public hearing at a meeting of said Mayor and Borough Council to be held at the Borough of Spring Lake, 423 Warren Avenue, Spring Lake, New Jersey on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 beginning at 7:00 P.M. During the week prior to and including the date of such further consideration, copies will be made available at the Municipal Clerk's Office in said Municipal Building to member of the General Public who shall request such copies. Zahorsky, Borough Clerk ORDINANCE NO. 2026-003 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING CHAPTER 292 "RENTAL CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY", SECTION 3 "FEES" AND SECTION 17 "ENFORCEMENT" OF THE BOROUGH CODE WHEREAS, Chapter 292 of the Borough Code governs, "Rental Certificate of Occupancy"; and WHEREAS, Chapter 292, Section 3 of the Borough Code governs, "Fees" and Section 17 governs "Enforcement"; and WHEREAS, Chapter 292, Section 3 & Section 17 is amended with deletions reflected in strikethrough and additions reflected in underline; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDIANED, by the Borough Council of the Borough of Spring Lake in the County of Monmouth and State of New Jersey that Chapter 292, Section 3 & Section 17 will be amended and supplemented as follow: 292-3. Fees. The minimum application fee for each residential unit shall be $150 for houses up to four bedrooms and $200 for houses with more than four bedrooms. $50 and fees of varying amounts shall be assessed depending on the size of the structure and other variables consistent with Section 211-13A(6). 292-17. Enforcement. The provisions of this section shall be enforced by the Borough Code Enforcement Officer or Borough Police. The fine for a violation of Section 292-14 A (1) shall be $2000 for each day of unauthorized occupancy.
