Public comment invited on Industrial User Discharge Permit for International Paint LLC.

PUBLIC NOTICE   Pursuant to 40 CFR Part 403.8(a), the Joint Meeting of Essex & Union Counties (Joint Meeting) developed an Industrial Pretreatment Program. This program was approved by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection in February, 1985.  In order to deny or condition new or increased contribution of pollutants discharged to the Joint Meeting treatment works, or changes in the nature of the pollutants discharged, the Joint Meeting issues Industrial User Discharge Permits to Major Industrial Users of its treatment works.  Major Industrial Users are defined as those industries which discharge non-domestic wastewater that: (a) has a flow of 25,000 gallons per day or more, or (b) exceeds the mass equivalent per day of normal wastes, or (c) is subject to Federal Categorical Pretreatment Standards or (d) is determined by the Joint Meeting to require regulation.  The Joint Meeting will issue a draft Industrial User Discharge Permit to International Paint LLC, located at 2270 Morris Avenue, Union, NJ. If no comments are received, the Permit will be finalized without further notice.  Interested members of the general public, civic groups or organizations are invited to comment on the issuance of the Industrial User Discharge Permit.
